Advancing Our Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion
In June 2020, USI’s commitment to advancing a diverse and inclusive workplace was rebranded and restructured to form our current inclusion program entitled “I’m With U.” The program prioritizes educating and supporting our employees across the country with timely resources and information to help them better understand and serve our clients, prospects, fellow team members and local communities. Below is a summary of some of our current employee engagement initiatives focused on building a more diverse and inclusive culture at USI as we work together to champion diversity in all its forms.

Education & Training
- Comprehensive Training Programs: We are dedicated to fostering an inclusive workplace culture through ongoing training for all employees, including companywide inclusion education, leadership development for over 1,300 supervisors to address bias in key decision-making areas, and specialized recruitment training to support diverse talent acquisition.
- Employee Resources: Employees are invited to visit our internal I’m With U resource site each month to access relevant tools and information, such as optional virtual training and microlearning opportunities.

Diverse Recruiting
- Career Track Program: We are committed to developing the insurance and benefits experts for today, tomorrow, and the future. We invest heavily in our early talent associates through one-of-a-kind personal and professional development programs, along with best-in-class rewards and recognition.
- Campus Recruitment Team: Recruiting diverse talent expands innovation efforts within our organization and better supports the clients, prospects, team members, and communities we serve. Hiring the next generation of industry talent is a balance between building relationships with candidates, managing key connections at colleges and universities, and keeping USI’s regional leadership teams involved in the hiring process.

Employee Support Programs
- I’m With U Council: This council serves as thought leaders, innovators and advisors to our I’m With U Executive Sponsor Team. The council is diverse in its representation of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, veteran and disability status, reflecting all levels of our organization.
- Professional Development Opportunities: Through programs like U Mentor, a one-to-one mentorship program, and U Network, a peer-to-peer learning platform, we support employee growth by fostering mentorship, peer learning, and meaningful connections that enhance skills, expand organizational knowledge and promote a strong sense of belonging.
